A Plague Tale: Innocence - Dark action in the Middle Ages

The medieval action-adventure A Plague Tale: Innocence is a real surprise hit. The dark times of the Middle Ages are at the center of the action. You slip into the role of a 14-year-old girl named Amicia. The dangers are relatively clear and not to be underestimated. At that time, the Inquisition and the plague were deadly dangers. But watch out for the rats too, because death lurks around every corner. A Plague Tale: Innocence is not a real action game, but rather a stealth adventure.

A Plague Tale places a very high value on a detailed story. You have various gameplay elements available to get to know the story of your characters. It is the year 1348 in medieval France. Your name is Amicia, your sick brother's name is Hugo. You are only 14 years old, your little brother is five years old. Just now an idyll changes the events quickly. The Inquisition is looking for your brother because he is sick. Somehow you both manage to escape, but now you are on the run. Not only is the Inquisition a problem, but war, plague, and a rat epidemic are also on your heels.

Your equipment isn't particularly gigantic, but you can certainly use it cleverly. You shouldn't get caught, because armed soldiers patrol the streets. And they show no mercy. You are armed with a sling and various potions that you can collect during the game. In addition to your weapons, various flowers and herbs can also be collected. These are your collectibles and unlock various additional dialogues.

Although the story in A Plague Tale: Innocence is about two children, the game is not intended for children. The smaller French development studio Asobo Studio tries to realistically represent the turmoil and cruelty of the Middle Ages. So you can expect beautiful landscapes, ruins and interesting cities. In return, you will be confronted with the reality of that time in many game situations. Death lurks everywhere and is just waiting to strike.

In short: A great atmosphere awaits you in A Plague Tale: Innocence.
